Sister Madie Besseling is a experienced qualified advanced wound care practitioner that has been involved in advanced wound care for the past 9 years. She did her Advanced Wound Care course at Eloquent Learning Health with Sister Liezl Naude, the previous president of the Wound Healing Association of South Africa. (WHASA)
Because of her passion for wound care, she was nominated by the current WHASA president, Sr Febe Bruwer to attend an International Interprofessional Wound Care Course (IIWCC) and enrolled as a student by the Office of Continuing Education and Professional Development, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto.
Sister Marika van Zyl is a qualified nursing practitioner and theatre sister. She gained a lot of experience while working for Cansa during the last 15 years.
She is well known for running cancer screening clinics in Lephalale, Thabazimbi and Tomburke. She was also involved in home-based and palliative care as well as training of the caretakers of terminal patients.
She has worked together with various dermatologists to promote the early diagnosis of skin cancer. She is passionate about the comprehensive treatment and caring of all cancer patients.
